Es una enzima en la sangre que controla la cantidad de hierro en los glóbulos rojos y ayuda a las células a transportar mucho oxígeno.
Las personas que no tienen suficiente cantidad de esta enzima pueden desarrollar una afección llamada metahemoglobinemia.
